Expertise Areas

  • Sedimentology, primarily in deep-water gravity flow depositional systems in rift lacustrine basins. In recent years, my research group has been investigating depositional processes and models for the nearshore subaqueous fans in the steep slope zone and turbidite fans in the central zone of rift lacustrine basins using outcrop, core, sedimentary simulation and seismic data, etc.

  • The evolution of clastic reservoir quality with geological time. We mainly research diagenetic paragenetic sequence, porosity and permeability evolution processes in clastic reservoirs with geological time.

  • Evaluation of effective clastic reservoirs with low-permeability. We mainly investigate petroleum exploitation and accumulation porosity and permeability lower limit of clastic effective reservoirs, genetic mechanisms of low-permeability reservoirs, and genetic mechanisms and distribution of high-quality reservoirs.
