July 30th, the international journal Energy Science held its inauguration ceremony and first editorial board meeting in UPC.
Energy security, clean energy, and energy economics have become intertwined with global economic growth, human activities and high-quality living! Fossil fuels, especially oil and gas, have driven the economic prosperity and technological innovation of the past century. How to transition to clean energy in an orderly and sustainable manner under the proposed Zero Net Carbon Emission is a huge challenge for humanity. Therefore, the School of Geosciences, School of Petroleum Engineering, School of New Energy, and School of Economics and Management at China University of Petroleum (East China) have decided to collaborate with World Scientific Press to publish the journal of "Energy Science". The aim is to lead cutting-edge research in Energy Science by publishing high-level academic papers covering the intersection of "fossil energy", "new energy", and "energy economics", and to create an international top academic exchange platform that promotes the rapid development of this emerging interdisciplinary field.
This meeting was jointly organized by the Periodical Office of China University of Petroleum (East China), the School of Geosciences, the School of Petroleum Engineering, and the State Key Laboratory of Deep Oil and Gas. Members of the first editorial board attended this meeting.
