Recently, the 13th plenary conference of the Geological Society of China was held in Beijing. At the meeting, Professor Cao Ying from our school was elected as a fellow of the second session of the Geological Society of China. Zhu Guangyou, one 1994 alumnus of our school majoring in petroleum geological exploration, was also selected as the fellow.
Fellow of Geological Society China is an academic title established by the Society, representing top scientists who have made outstanding contributions and great influence in the field of geology. Every two years, no more than 10 people will be selected across our country. The selected fellow shall achieve innovative results in basic geological research and make important contributions to the development of geology and related fields, or make breakthrough achievements in solving major scientific and technological problems related to resources and environment and achieve theoretical innovation or technological breakthroughs, or make outstanding contributions in research, development, promotion, application, industrialization of innovative geological technology, or completing major geological engineering projects.
